The Australian Logistics Council has welcomed Infrastructure Victoria’s Draft 30-Year Infrastructure Strategy (2025–2055) as an opportunity to elevate freight as a core pillar of the state’s infrastructure planning. In its submission, ALC advocates for freight to be recognised alongside transport, energy, water, and digital systems—reflecting its essential role in supporting economic growth, supply chain resilience, and emissions reduction. The submission outlines clear priorities, including the development of dedicated urban freight precincts, a comprehensive Freight Decarbonisation and Resilience Roadmap, stronger long-term protection of freight corridors, targeted investment in rail and intermodal infrastructure, and nationally consistent road user charging. ALC urges Infrastructure Victoria to move from vision to implementation and stands ready to collaborate on delivering a freight system that is integrated, future-ready, and aligned with national priorities.
